1960s Family Home, Surrey
Complete renovation and extension of a 1960s suburban family home in Surrey to provide improved proportions, more socially focused ground floor rooms and an impressive master suite with high vaulted ceilings.
The concept for this home was to ensure spaces led freely off the hub of the home, the kitchen; without being too inherently open plan. Each family member has opportunity for rest and peace whilst still feeling part of the buzz around the house.
Playful with changing colours throughout the home to reflect the people who live there, vintage block print fabrics and contemporary patterns layered on personality and warmth. Texture, feeling and time were infused into the master bedroom with wax batik wallpaper, a grandfather's antique mother-of-pearl inlaid tea table and a ceiling fan to bring memories from Asia.
