Georgian Townhouse, Hackney

Redecoration of an upper-level living space within a character-rich Georgian townhouse with a hint of the unconventional. The space was to 'triple up' as a guest bedroom, whiskey lounge and calming yoga space.

A wooden bookshelf with three shelves, decorated with books, a ceramic bowl, a green glass vase, and artwork in the back.
A wooden table with six green and glass cups surrounding a decorative tray with a feather design, and a colorful magazine.

The joinery was key in this project as it was redesigned to incorporate a drop-down bed and shelving with an Art-Deco edge, in line with the tastes of the charismatic couple who live there. They also love Dickensian moodier light, which inspired the deep hue on the walls and transformed the way one feels in the room throughout different times of the day. Space for their collections on display against custom hand-marbled wallpaper added a finishing touch.

A cozy living room with pink walls, a window with white trim, a black fireplace, a round wooden coffee table, a green armchair, and decorated with vases, books, and candles.
A wooden table with two books, a gold vase, and a clear decorative bottle inside a room with a green and brown patterned carpet.

It is a balance of contemporary and tradition through the geometric rug and smooth line club chairs, to the antique accessories and original fireplace, which we topped with a new Violetta marble mantle top.

Close-up of a floral-patterned fabric over the edge of a person lying on a brown sofa with a decorative pillow that has a geometric pattern, with pink walls in the background.
A cozy living room corner featuring a burgundy wall with molding, an abstract painting, a dark sofa with patterned pillows, a glass-topped side table with a small ceramic cup and a book, a built-in wooden bookshelf with decorative items, and a large window letting in natural light.

A creative, personality-rich project that is we will always remember.
